Elements and Performance Criteria
- Plan and prepare to apply the principles of the stabilisation of materials
- Access, interpret and apply stabilisation of materials documentation and ensure the work activity is compliant

Performance Evidence
Evidence is required to be collected that demonstrates a candidate’s competency in this unit. Evidence must be relevant to the roles within this sector’s work operations and satisfy all of the requirements of the performance criteria of this unit and include evidence that the candidate:
locates and applies relevant documentation, policies and proceduresimplements the appropriate requirements, procedures and techniques for the safe, effective and efficient supervision of stabilising materials including:accessing, interpreting and applying documentation for applying the principles of the stabilisation of materialsidentifying and applying relevant specifications to all work activitiesidentifying, addressing and reporting potential hazards and risksidentifying, obtaining, confirming and supervising the implementation of signage and barrier requirements selecting and checking for faults all plant, tools and equipment to carry out tasks identifying, addressing and reporting environmental issues and ground conditionsensuring a job plan is available and communicated which makes best use of the available resources and meets task requirements works effectively with others to plan, prepare and conduct the stabilisation of materials that meets all requirements including:preparing for and organising work activities to meet all task requirementscommunicating clearly and concisely with others to allocate work tasks and give work instructionsmonitoring movements and hazards and identifying and communicating changes to the work environment during the work processdemonstrates completion of principles of the stabilisation of materials that safely, effectively and efficiently meets all of the required outcomes on more than one (1) occasion including:ensuring the provision of all plant, tools, equipment and resourcesinitiating tasks by overseeing the allocation, progression and completion of tasks to meet job requirementssupplying coaching solutions where tasks require problem solvingensuring plant, equipment and tools maintenance requirements are carried out and recordedsupervising the clearing of the work area and disposing of, reusing, recycling or storing of materialsreporting on the execution of tasksrecommending improvements to the safety, efficiency and effectiveness of the execution of tasksevidence of the successful supervision of a stabilisation of materials operation
